Uralkali maintains capacities to store, transport and tranship raw materials and finished products.

Warehouse Facilities

Warehouse capacity of over 1 million tonnes

  • Finished product warehouses in Berezniki and Solikamsk with a total capacity of up to 400,000 tonnes, each with isolated sections for products of differing types.
  • Uralkali also uses warehouses in key regions globally.
  • Each warehouse is linked to a cargo railway terminal with a system of conveyors that are totally resistant to adverse external impact.

Packaging

Uralkali delivers the majority of its products to customers without packaging, i.e. in bulk. Accordingly It is essential to follow correct handling and storage processes and procedures in order to preserve maximum integrity of bulk products throughout the entire supply chain.

However, the Company can supply products in various types of packaging using both own packaging capabilities or those of transshipment terminals. The Company can deliver its products in 25/50 kg polypropylene bags or 1-tonne big bags on or without pallets, loaded in railcars or 20-/40-feet shipping containers. To ensure the safety of products during shipment and storage, we strongly recommend following the manual on handling cargo packed in flexible container (big bags).

Rolling Stock

    7,700 specialised mineral railcars

  • Railway transportation is an instrumental element of the Company’s production and sales chain to ensure uninterrupted supplies. The Company relies on the railway system to deliver its products to the ports, which forward the goods to other countries by sea. Uralkali also supplies its products directly to consumers in Russia, Northern China and CIS countries by rail.
  • Uralkali has a fleet of 7,700 specialised mineral railcars, one of the largest in Russia. The Company also uses the rolling stock of major Russian operators to secure its product supplies in high season.
